Body image is constantly evolving and impacted by thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that are integrated over a lifetime. This book examines how the development of a sense of self and body, and the social, cultural and situational factors responsible for that shaping, are understood through a therapeutic lens. Intended for practicing art therapists to enhance their understanding and treatment of body image within their work, this book applies contemporary research in neuroscience and diverse clinical populations.
