Ethnee Holmes a Court - matriarch, race horse breeder, businesswoman and the mother of famed entrepreneur, Robert Holmes a Court - is one of Australia's grande dames. Abandoned to raise both sons alone, a young Ethnee turned her passion for animals into the family's financial salvation, establishing one of Rhodesia's most successful riding schools, then a hotel in the remote Chobe Game park in Botswana. Later moving to Western Australia, she has played an instrumental role in son Robert's famous Heytesbury Stud.
