Maya the unicorn lives in the woods with other unicorns. But she doesn't quite fit in, because her house looks different from the others, and she always wears a dinosaur costume. She tries to explain to the others that she has to wear the costume to protect her skin from the sun, but they just make fun of her. One day, Maya sees two other unicorns, Jack and Cleo, collecting pine cones to make pine cone jam. Maya wants to make friends and tries to join them, but they don't want her around. Will the others learn to be more accepting of Maya's differences, and welcome her as their new friend? This poignant story explores the themes of friendship, difference, and acceptance of others as well as oneself.
