"Urban Fox" is a frank and humorous memoir that shares with us a lifetime of adventures and tells of one man's love of the countryside. Beautifully illustrated with evocative wood engravings, "Urban Fox" will delight the reader with its tales of a hidden world. It celebrates a way of life that few will believe possible, that of the urban poacher. The hunting, be it with dogs, ferrets, boomerangs or longbows, takes place within the city limits of Edinburgh. The enemy of the poacher is not the gamekeeper but the occasional red-faced pre-breakfast jogger gasping his way through woods, scattering the wildlife. Spanning almost forty years of hunting, Urban Fox begins with an enthusiastic young boy with a passion for egg collecting and bird watching and ends with a ?respectable' old man looking back on his hunter's life. These are memoirs tinged with a little guilt but few regrets. AUTHOR: Bob Redwater was born in Manchester in 1949.
