Everyone on the Starlight is in deep sleep - everyone except Lon. The boy has woken up even though the spacecraft's long voyage into a new solar system isn't yet complete. Stranger still he finds odd little tubes hooked into his slumbering crewmates and they all look pale and sickly. Then Lon discovers an even worse problem. Mysterious alien creatures have come aboard the ship and they're hungry for blood.
