Since its inception, Viva la Novella has published surprising, original and brilliant writing from debut and emerging writers. And itssquo;s not just us saying so. In 2017 Marlee Jane Wardosquo;s novella Welcome to Orphancorp won the Victorian Premier squo;s Young Adult Fiction Prize. In 2018 Mirandi Riwoeisquo;s The Fish Girl was shortlisted for the Stella Prize and the Queensland Prize for Fiction. Joshua Mostafansquo;s Offshore was optioned by Australian film-marker Partho Sen-Gupta and critically acclaimed. Although these volumes are slim, they continue to demonstrate how powerful the short form can be.
