Dad has always wanted to live in the country. Jake and Mike don't. Mike especially doesn't. He knows there'll be nothing to do and he sets about doing nothing with quite a deal of energy. He's so busy doing nothing that he finds himself involved with saving his sister Sally from a watery death, sheep rustlin', and finding ways to get out of doing chores to earn money. He's so busy he doesn't notice as snakes and lizards, hens and geese, and a sheep dog with a bit of a problem, all try to adjust to living on the farm with his family, and he doesn't notice that he's not so bored any more . . .
'Woolly Jumpers' is a hilarious story about city kids who are in an unnatural environment, locking horns with animals that know the ropes of life on the farm. The story is told not only from the point of view of Mike, but also the various animals.
