Everything is quiet at the Mad Monster Agency - too quiet. All over town people are increasingly tired. At first they feel drowsy, then chronically lethargic and eventually they can hardly move.
The Agency bunker seems to be immune to whatever is causing the mass tiredness, so Zac and Dr Brains decide to spend the evening there. When they emerge on to the street at midnight they can't believe what they are seeing. People are being carried away in their beds! Following the procession of beds Zac and the Doctor find themselves deep underground where the victims are put to work digging - but for what, and by whom?
It's none other than the dreaded Hypno-Dwarves. Hypno-Dwarves, whose new ruler, known simply as 'The Eye' is searching for the mythical jewel known as 'The Lion's Claw'. This stone gives those that possess it the power to hypnotise on a huge scale - if the Hypno-Dwarves find it the whole world will fall under their spell!
